GET INVOLVED

Join our efforts to bring hope to the homeless. Volunteering offers opportunities for you to use your God-given gifts of time, talent, and treasure to help those who are most in need. Every individual, group, or church has different gifts and interests to share, and we thank each and every one of you for your interest in volunteering.

Every project at City Mission includes specific guidelines and instructions to ensure a safe and meaningful experience for you and those you serve. Please review the Application Process and fill out a Volunteer Application. You can also contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@citymission.org or (724) 222-8530.

Our Volunteer Philosophy: Volunteers founded City Mission. Volunteers have always been partners in the work of the mission. Volunteers are our most valuable resource and are an integral part of our future. We believe the talents, gifts, experiences, and time each volunteer brings to City Mission are gifts from God. We are committed to providing volunteers the opportunity to exercise their gifts in the service of “the least of these” for the Lord. Volunteers will assist us in continuing to offer quality programs that will provide residents the opportunity to take the next productive step in their journey to independence.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

— Romans 12:2

DONATE TO CITY MISSION

Your gift to City Mission provides us with the resources we need to restore hope to the homeless population of Southwestern Pennsylvania, helping them on their way to a renewed life and independent living. The mission is currently raising funds to rebuild our main building, which burned down in June 2015.

RECYCLE WITH CITY MISSION

By recycling at City Mission, you can dispose of your excess items, go green, and bring hope to the homeless, all at the same time! We accept appliances, vehicles, electronics, ball caps, belts, clothing, shoes, purses, metal, paper, books, and plastic toys. Please call (724) 222-8530 for details.
