volunteering
Volunteers are a very important part of our ministry at Washington
City Mission. We could not have helped poor and homeless for 65 years if
it were not for the help of volunteers. No matter how much you wish to
volunterr, there is a place for you at Washington City Mission!
If you would like more information please call our Volunteer
Coordinator, at 724-222-8530 ext. 239 and request and application.
Ways to Volunteer
New Service Opportunity!
- THE PARACLETE VOLUNTEER
PROGRAM - An opportunity for mature
Christians to become committed volunteers by coming along side those
in need. If this describes you, click here
for details.
- Regular Weekly Volunteer - You may commit to a
specific volunteer position each week. We have many volunteer
opportunities in the administration office.
- On-Call Volunteer - Many volunteers choose to be
available as needed for jobs such as baking cookies, painting,
addressing envelopes, doing repairs around the Mission, assisting
with holiday inventories, special events and more.
- Monthly Church Volunteer - Your church can
participate in leading chapel, morning devotions or Bible study
times once or twice each month at the Men's Shelter or Avis Arbor
our shelter for women and children.
- Collection Drives and Benefits - Some prefer to
organize drives or benefits for Washington City Mission's food
pantries, infirmary, free clothing rooms, school supplies
distribution, etc., at their place of business, church or school.
We especially need trustworthy, skilled volunteers who are available
during business hours.
