In July of 2017 Syd came to City Mission because he was homeless. He had started dabbling with drugs as a teenager and became addicted to crack-cocaine as an adult.
His drug abuse landed him in jail many times. Last summer he made the choice to come to City Mission ready to do what ever he needed to do to turn his life around.
Si\yd says, “Through the grace of God and the mission program I’m clean and sober now for nine months.”
Syd has made an impression on the mission staff.. He’s been given the responsibility of Resident Assistant for his men’s dorm.
Syd was recently hired in the mission’s Maintenance Department and oversees three buildings. He is full of gratitude this Thanksgiving season for the opportunities he’s been given at City Mission.
Thank you for making it possible for men and women like Syd to find recovery and transformation at City Mission!
