Conversations on a Bench is a nationwide event that raises awareness of homelessness in the days leading up to World Homeless Day. Through Citygate Network, rescue missions and ministries across North America each place a leader on a bench for 24 hours and livestream honest conversations about homelessness, addiction, and recovery. City Mission is proud to take part again this year.
From noon on Thursday, October 8, until noon on Friday, October 9, City Mission President and CEO Diana Irey Vaughan will take her seat on the bench for a 24-hour livestream on YouTube and Facebook. Throughout the day and night, she will sit down with guests from our community to talk openly about what homelessness looks like in Southwestern Pennsylvania and what it takes to rebuild a life.
This year, conversations on the bench are by invitation only. You can still be part of the event by watching the livestream, sharing it with friends, submitting a question for Diana to answer on air, or making a gift to support neighbors in need.
